We will have projects due for each six weeks and serve as a test grade/major grade. Most projects will be done in class but a few will require outside class work. Information regarding projects can be found here. You may also email me if you have any questions. 6th grading period project - Staar boot camp folder The 6th six weeks we focus on STAAR prep. Therefore, our two test grades for this six weeks will come from their STAAR boot camp folder and STAAR assesment questions. 1. Boot camp folder - Students will put together and keep up with a STAAR review folder. All supplies will be provided by teacher and worked on in class. At the end of the six weeks students, folders will be graded similar to notebook check style. 2. STAAR assessment questions - students will be receiving 4 sets of 5 questions throughout the six weeks assessing their mastery of each of the 4 categories on the science STAAR (Chemistry, Physics, Earth and Space, Organisms and their environment). After all questions have been given the amount they got right will add up to a test grade. 5th grading period project - Yarn Topographic Map Project will be in class Wednesday and Thursday and Friday (April 4 - 6). All materials will be provided by teacher.

Project Rubric moon_phases_project_rubric.pdf 3rd grading period project - Balloon Race Car Students will explore Newton's law of motion by creating a balloon race car that they will race in class. More details will be posted later. Due date will be December 6 Parents and Students, Students were given information about a take home project that they will be doing for this six weeks. The project counts as a test grade. I have attached the information about the project.
Due date timeline Friday (12/1) – Students will need to turn in their balloon race car blueprint. We will be going outside to launch our bottle rockets so students should dress appropriately for the weather. Monday (12/4) – Students who have finished their race car may bring it to class to test run and make modifications to their design. this is not a requirement but students who do bring a completed race car this day will earn 10 bonus points on the project. Wednesday (12/6) – Balloon race cars are due. Students will race them, calculate speed and answer questions.
1st grading period project - Food Web Project All students should have a poster for the project. Students will receive 3 class periods to complete the project. The 1st Six Weeks project is an independent project. Projects always count as a major grades. More info to come soon.
